Something to remember

For me at funerals,
I always wish there was a little something to remember the person by.
A picture or a card, something of the sort.

My aunt came up with an idea and I did just that.

My grandfather loved to sing to his girls.
Instead of reading Jack in the Beanstalk to my aunt
for the millionth time, she would ask him to sing.
And he did.

My aunt also would sing to him
and sang a song about Heavenly Father protecting him
when he came to U.S. from the Philippines for the first time.
So it was very appropriate when it was time to talk about him,
that we all sang-one of his favorites.

I'll be Seeing You
(a classic Frank Sinatra song)
This project was pretty easy and quick.
Here's some of the details:
Run to Office Max and buy the postcard size pearl paper.
Run to Michael's and buy small stick-on pearls.
Design and format in Microsoft Word.
Have the lyrics ready to favorite song or quotes.
Tip: Print on regular paper first to make sure you have the spacing right.
Then after the printing, stick one pearl on and stuff in envelopes.

If we would have had more time, we would have had this favorite picture printed to go with it.
I'm so glad that I was able to make this for him.

P.S. Joyful Moments will continue next week.
I promise to remind everyone!

  2. That was such a good idea and I'm sure everyone that has that now is so grateful that you thought of it and put the work into it. I'm so sorry for your loss!
