Never to Forget

My grandmother told me about an amazing girl named Garrett who happened to love my cousin Mike very much.

They have a sweet little girl who is now three named Ivy.
Garrett was very accomplished and she even started her own diaper service which she named after Ivy and convinced several moms to make the switch. Heck, she even convinced my aunt and uncle to start a diaper service.

She stuck to her slogan, "Healthy Butts, Happy Planet."

Even though I wasn't really ever close to Mike, I still wanted to get to know Garrett so we became friends on Facebook. We sent messages back and forth, I loved seeing pictures of sweet Ivy.

We continued Facebook stalking, she was always giving wonderful advice on motherhood.
I was so happy for them when I heard she was expecting another girl.

Then sadly, last week my grandmother called to say that Garrett had been in a terrible car crash and had passed away. I was stunned and listened while my grandmother explained that their baby girl Rosie,
was born in an emergency C-section. Rosie only lived a few hours.

So today, my heart goes out to Mike and Ivy as so many people will be celebrating the lives of
Alison Garrett Burfield and sweet Rosie.

Garrett believed in the JOY of motherhood and because of that, Mike has set up a foundation in Garrett and Rosie's name. The money raised will be given to several different charities that Garrett supported and loved during her life.

If you feel so inclined, please visit the Garrett and Rosie Foundation. I am permanently putting a button on my sidebar to always remember and celebrate life.

Because that's what life is all about, Celebrating the Moments that take your breath away.
