Into the Heart of Africa

Last Sunday was World Humanitarian Day and I keep wondering what more I could do help the world. Lately, it seems that Africa has been all over the news and the struggles that the country faces. It is in my little heart's desire to one day to go on a humanitarian trip to help the people there. Below are some links I think you'll find interesting and ways we can all help in the meantime, right from home.

The scariest disease I've ever heard of, Ebola found in Uganda.

A nine-year-old-girl had a birthday wish to help 15 people get clean water and Charity Water was created in her honor. Watch her story here from David Muir.

Food for the Hungry, a wonderful organization that wants to make sure children all over the world, never starve again. Read about this blogger's experience doing a humanitarian trip with them to Ethiopia.

A sweet t-shirt you can buy to help women in Zambia learn how to sew.

I recommend reading Kisses from Katie, Say You're One of Them, Cry the Beloved Country and Things Fall Apart. You can never have too many books, right?

This video is full of joy! I can't help but want to dance.
Thanks Alex!
Happy weekend friends!
