The Joy of a Friend

I cannot tell you how much it meant to me to visit friends along the way. I was exhausted and near to tears when I started on my road trip. It would have been so easy to turn around and just give up, staying in my comfort zone. Thank goodness for my long-time, since 7th grade, amazing friend Jennifer. We used to spend everyday together in high school and I have so many good memories of the two of us way back then.

Sadly, I hadn't seen her for years (a horrible mistake, I know).

Jennifer lives right in the middle of downtown Omaha. Which, I really can't say that I've ever been there before now. I think I've driven through it once but don't remember. It's a really nice city and Jennifer is near shopping and wonderful restaurants (bonus of living in the city).

Jennifer lives in a 100 year old duplex, with her husband and two kids. I couldn't help but try and capture some its charm. All the homes in Arizona are practically all the same, so I was thrilled to see a home with character!

Look at us! We haven't aged a day since we graduated high school.

Honestly, there's nothing like a good friend to remind you how far you've come and what your dreams were way back when. It was a wonderful moment for me to reflect and see that those same dreams I had so long ago aren't really that far at all. Some doors had to be closed so God could open a window. He definitely did open that window and lead me to find Jennifer so she help heal my broken heart.

I will ever be grateful and don't know what I would do without her!
