Often, I feel that I don't count my blessings enough. We live in such a great area, in a nice apartment, I have a great job, Kevin has one too-- we're very lucky. I have no idea how we're so blessed.
But I'm sure as most of you, I often feel a creeping of wanting more. I need to learn to be grateful and happy now. If I were to have everything at once, it wouldn't mean anything. If I didn't have to earn it, I wouldn't appreciate it. It's important to enjoy the growing moments because one day, I know I'll look back at this time.
It's important to be in the now instead of dreaming of later.
With that in mind, here's what I'm grateful for . . .
that I graduated with my Master's in New Media Journalism! Plus, a sweet boss who bought me these balloons and embarrassed me in front of the whole staff. :)
Cookie Monster cupcakes from Potito's that I get to share with neighborhood children.
smoothies from Pure Fare that are oh so healthy and great to drink after workouts.
for quiet evening walks in such a beautiful city.
for amazing ladies nights with sweet friends.
days at the beach that we can do nothing but enjoy the ocean.
mornings where I can grab my favorite hot chocolate and read a few chapters.
evening walks in the park.
being able to grab a treat after a long, hard day of work.
beautiful green grass and historic places to visit.
"Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer.
And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good."
-Maya Angelou

ReplyDeleteAh fun! It's so good to be grateful for the little things, the here and now! And such a good reminder to take stock of those things instead of wishing them away for something more!
