Glitter Ornaments

The highlight of the Christmas tree I decorated for the festival was definitely the glitter ornaments.
It's what pulled everything together, it was so simple and super easy to do!
My sister-in-law showed me and I thought I'd share with you.

Start with glass ornaments, glitter and some Mop & Glo.
(Yep, Mop and Glo the stuff you might clean your kitchen floors with
somehow makes the glitter stick).

Squirt a little bit of Mop & Glo into the ornament and swish it around.

Then make sure to drain all the Mop & Glo out.

Then pour some glitter in and swish around till it covers the ornament.

There you have it! Simple inexpensive glitter ornaments.

I tried to buy them at the store and box of four was $20.
How about boxes ornaments, glitter and supplies for $20?
Yep, much better.

Kisses! XO

Star of Light

For years, I have wanted to create a tree for the Festival of Trees.
It's one of my favorite events during Christmas.

I wanted to do a small tree with a few highlights centered around the birth of Christ.
Jen came up with the idea to do blue and silver.

The tree was for those who have lost a baby.

It's definitely one of the more simple trees at the festival
and I love the way it turned out.

Here's a few highlights.

My sweet niece Madi, was great to hold still so I could have a glitter hand print.

I love this star featuring the wise men.

The hope angel. Have you read the Christmas Box?
I had a large nativity with my tree as well. I love the sparkles that look like snowflakes.
The look of Joseph is also amazing as to me, it looks like that he really loves Mary.
Last but not least, word ornaments.
Of course I had to have joy somewhere.
And I love peace. There is peace at Christmas.

It was such a fun project to ring in the season!

The best part?
My tree sold!
What a wonderful fundraiser for Primary Children's Hospital.

Festival of Trees will be going on through the weekend!
Make sure to stop by.

Around here

Sorry lovely friends.
The week of Thanksgiving and most
of this week just flew right by me.

It was quite the lovely long weekend around here.

A grown-up date with Katelyn to Noodles and Company.
Of course, we ate Wisconsin Mac and Cheese.

My sister-in-law and I escaped to Chili's. Best part?
Look in the right corner. Yep, molten choclate cake calling my name for sure.
Sweet Jane turned one.
We bought her and her sister Lilly matching Christmas dresses,
my new thing is to not buy loud noisy toys.
And since it was a busy Saturday, morning worked best for a party.
Instead of cake, why not chocolate waffles!?!

Kevin and I ran a 10K on Thanksgiving.
I was so sore and tired.

Even after all that, it made us both want to get ready to run another race!
There's one check off of my 12 by 2012!

On a good note, it made me realize how much Kevin and I are a team.
Yep, we hit a very large bump and are making our way through it.
My dad's famous pumpkin and chocolate pecan pie.
It's literally to DIE for.

Kevin took me Black Friday shopping. I was impressed that he
waited in the hour long line to checkout at Target. Brownie points to him!

What I'm listening to around here.
Festival of Trees is this week through Saturday!
More details to come about this tree.
And now finals of my final semester are approaching.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I'M THANKFUL FOR YOU.
