Still catching up for the 10 Day You Challenge and tomorrow I'll be up to date!
Oh, how I love my food! I sometimes disliked growing up in a household of boys (two brothers, the cousins close to my age are all boys) because they would covet my food. It became an evening ritual for my mother to say, "Thou shalt not covet thy sister's food!"
So here's to my favorites:
1. Spaghetti
No joke. The simpler, the better. There's nothing like a good plate of pasta on a bad day. It's my all-time comfort food. I'll let you in on a secret though, I seriously could not say spaghetti until recently. My family still teases me about it!
2. Mashed Potatoes
The
Ina Garten kind. I made them the other night and it was oh sooo good. Downside, I forgot that my niece is allergic to dairy and there's lots of sour cream in it.
3. Cincinnati Chili
 |
I may or may not have personally stopped outside of Columbus, Ohio just to eat this yummy chili from Skyline Chili. |
My oldest brother Nathan served his mission in Cincinnati and when he came home, he made it for us. Now, it's often a
regular recipe made by him on Sunday evenings. First off, you may not know that Cincinnati Chili is served over spaghetti. So there you have it. I like mine as a three way: cheese, chili, served over spaghetti. Perfection.
4. Sushi
 |
Mango sushi from Sushi Garden in Tucson, I highly recommend it. |
The Philly roll is my favorite. It's salmon, cream cheese and avocado. I'm dying to try
this place though.
5. Ice Cream
 |
Who doesn't love chocolate lava cake from Chili's? |
This could be considered a food in my life because I eat it often enough. When I was really little, I remember my dad waking me up setting me on top of the counter and spoon feeding it both of us for breakfast. I loved those mornings.
I generally relate favorite foods to Sunday dinners and holidays. I love how the kitchen can bring everyone together and warm their hearts.
I'm interested . . . what's your favorite food? I'd love to hear!
haha sadly I think the only thing on that list I like is the last one! haha!
