Joyful Moments-Miss Katelyn

The hardest part about moving,
is leaving our sweet nieces Katelyn, Aiden and Madeline behind.

We have so many lovely memories,
that will make us laugh until the next time we see them.

They're so beautiful and are growing up so fast.

But before we left,
we had to have one last special date with Miss Katelyn.
Of course, it was to our favorite place.

Nielsens Frozen Custard

On Fridays when I had some extra time,
I loved taking Katelyn out and listen
to her chat about her day and the kids at school.

So happy that Kevin could join us this last time!

Yummy!
Best frozen custard, period.

We love you Katelyn!

Now, won't you help us in our journey to find JOY?
What's your joyful moment?

Please, join us!

I will blog about my joyful moment every Friday
where you'll be able to link up your moment as well
until the following Tuesday.

Embrace the Camera-Zombies

Okay, we all know that it's not nice to graffiti but this one was just hilarious.
So much so that my sweet friend Devon said, "We need to take pictures by this!"

It says, "University of Utah Research Park, technology creating industry, creating jobs,  creating zombies"
Katie and Devon acting normal but beware. . .

AHHHHHH!!!!!
It was quite fun.

Embrace the Camera Day-Katelyn's birthday

I can't believe that our Sunshine Girl turned six!

She's so grown up.

Last night for her birthday,
the family gathered to watch her soccer game.
She was thrilled.
With Nana

With Uncle J
Then we went to dinner
where she was able to open up
her princess dresses from
Kevin and me.

They're from the Little Dress Up Shop.
Believe me, she loves it and they'll last her until she grows out of them!
It was sweet.

Kevin and Katelyn when she was four.
Happy Birthday Sweet Katelyn!

What a Lovely Easter!

Auntie E worked extra hard this year to make Easter just right.
You see L and B are moving to Phoenix here soon
{thank goodness we'll have a friend close by}
and so it was extra special.

Luckily, it did not rain on our party!
Auntie E joked that next year we'll all have to celebrate Easter in Arizona because
then we wouldn't have to worry if it was going to snow.

There were wonderful decorations in every nook and cranny. Such a delight!

For the best part, the hunt of the eggs.
Some of the eggs contained gold dollar coins, what a treat!

Pretty sneaky, if you ask me.
Little B came and told Auntie B that a gold coin had gone missing.
She then smiled and told him that a Leprechaun came and took it!
She then turned and said to Kevin and I that is what she should have
told the people at the bank that she is Leprechaun when she asked for all of the gold coins.
Love it.

Dinner was an amazing pot luck with several dishes.
But of course, the best part is having everyone there!
While this isn't the best picture, it's how I want to remember our dinners. Everyone sitting around, talking, having a wonderful time. I'll miss it, more that I realize.
Now for the best part!
The treats!

Chocolate Birds Nest
Bunny Roll
I almost didn't get a picture because they were so good!
By the time I remembered this was the last one!
To make the bunny rolls, it's pretty simple.
Take some frozen Rhodes Rolls.
Follow the directions on how to defrost.
To take a bunny roll your need two rolls.
Take one and cut in half.
Stick as ears to the other roll.
Bake according to the directions.

Then take a frosting tip to make ears, eyes and nose.
Put in plain M&Ms for eyes and ears.

Such a yummy treat!

On a side note, I missed these while I was in Brazil.
I'm making them next year for sure!!!

Hope your Easter was lovely!

Simple Things-Thanksgiving Point

On Friday, we had the chance to go Thanksgiving Point to attend the Tulip Festival in Lehi, Utah.
It was the first sunny day in a long time and finally felt like spring.

Some of the tulips were out, there hasn't been enough sun for all them to bloom yet.

Thanksgiving Point was created to celebrate the community and giving thanks.
It's a beautiful place filled with acres of landscaped gardens, each with different features.
Love this carousel.

The gardens are also a spiritual place for thinking and pondering.
If you look closely there's hidden thoughts and scriptures in each garden.

My favorite garden is the Secret Garden.
I grew up loving the movie.

It's even peaceful enough for a goose to lay her eggs in an arch.

What a wonderful Spring day!
Hope you'll go during the festival now until May 7th!

"For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale, and tree and flow'r,
Sun and moon and stars of light,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise."
-Hymn 92

Caden's Baptism

Caden at his Uncle's wedding last fall.

Issac, Caden, and Landon
{best cousin buds}
He's finally turned eight and is being baptized today.
We're proud of our nephew and that he's made this choice.
{you can find out more about baptisms here}

There will be a very loud luncheon afterwards.

It will be fun and then Kevin has a surprise date.
He is working on making sure that I am de-stressed for my test coming up (or so he claims).
I love it.

Can't wait to see what he has planned for me!

Happy weekend friends! Hope you'll find time to relax as well.
