Simple Things-Aiden and The Piano

One afternoon, in her Sunday best, when she thought no one was looking,
I watched her climb up on the bench.
Just to make sure she wouldn't tumble backwards.

She knew exactly what to do.

One day soon, she'll be the next little pianist in the house.

Play the music, not the instrument.

Joyful Moments-Piano Memories

{don't forget it's the last day to enter the giveaway here}

I was her age when I started playing the piano.
Mary had a Little Lamb.
Over and over.
Until everyone couldn't stand it any longer.

Thank goodness my dad taught me another song
and when he got to be a little bit too busy,
he found me a great teacher.

It's a talent that I don't regret having and worth every practice session.
I really don't have time to play anymore {or have much access to a piano}
but I smiled when I heard Mary had a Little Lamb once again, over and over.

Music washes away from the soul
the dust of everyday life.

The Simple Things-Joy of Music

I'm really late this week. But as we like to say late it's better than never!

On Sunday, I caught a quiet moment of Kevin playing the piano.
It is one of the many reasons why I love him.

When I was a little girl, I always dreamed that I would have a husband who could play the piano.
I loved to imagine us playing duets for hours enjoying one another's company.

That dream came true, we played lots of duets over Christmas.

My new dream is that one day we'll own our piano (and have a house to put it in).
We'll spend hours playing together and we'll teach our children.

It's simple and definitely my dream.

For now, my parents have a lovely piano that we play to our hearts content when we visit.

Look who found her way, into Uncle Kevin's lap.
Even though this picture is blurry, I love the look on Aiden's face.

"Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul."

The top two pictures have a new texture that I'm trying out from
Kristy at Life-N-Reflection that I won in a giveaway!
She has a beautiful photography blog along with some tutorials for us beginners.
