If you love a good day at the lake, this is your town.
We may never had gone exploring to this quaint little town if it weren't for a co-worker who had suggested it. Skaneateles (called skinny atlas by the locals ) is what so many other little American towns strive to be. They're just missing the main part: the big, beautiful lake in the center of city.
That's definitely what makes the town.
They even have an amazing bakery in which we stopped and grabbed some doughnuts before walking around. There's plenty of little quaint shops to walk around and did I mention the lake? :)
Coming to this little town made me want to move out to a rural area and have a lake house. It even gave me the feeling of buying an old home and remodeling it to make it ours. Maybe someday.
But that is exactly what Thom Filicia did. He bought a house in Skaneateles and made it his own. Thank goodness that he published a book about it so lake lovers like me can take a peek.
Doesn't it just look dreamy? Skaneateles has become one of my favorite summertime places.
I'm curious, what's your favorite little American town? Any recommendations?
xoxo
Even though I live in upstate New York I have never been here!! I will have to check this out. Probably my favorite little town near where I live is Essex. Love it! Thanks so much for sharing about this! Can't wait to check it out!
