I generally have a really hard time showing gratitude when I'm going through a rough time. No one wants to be around the person who complains or says negative things. We all love to be around someone who is uplifting and positive because they can lift us up to where they are.
Not just for a day, or even a month, this is something I need to work on. I've been going through a lot with morning sickness and some hard projects at work. My boss and I rarely see eye to eye on anything. It's been very difficult because I can't keep anything in my stomach. I've given up on all food pretty much.
I decided that I was going to change my outlook on everything. It started with a person I used to work with. Whenever we got together, all I could do was complain about work. Last night, I sent her an e-mail with filled with things that had nothing to do with work. Instead it was filled with things that I knew would make her smile and feel like she was taking a break (which she needs and deserves).
I am grateful for our friendship and I needed to remind myself that. It's best to keep our friendship strong!
As the song goes, "Count your blessings name them one by one . . . Count your many blessings see what God has done."
I know that I am blessed, I just need to remind myself every single day.
What are you grateful for? Who needs to hear your words of gratitude?
