Eight Fears

I have definitely been facing several of my fears head-on recently. Here's my top eight.

1. Spiders: I am deathly afraid of spiders. Once in Brazil, there was a huge gray spider crawling behind me. Its mouth opened up in the middle of its body. Luckily, since it was at someone's house they saw it and killed it with a flipflop. The next time I saw another spider like that was at an aquarium where they had a special display of the most poisonous in the world. Nice.

2. Getting stranded: I see people by the road on a two way highway all the time because their car broke down. I'm afraid of that happening and not having anyone to call. Better be prepared!

3. Offending people and not realizing it: Sadly, some people hurt me with words quite often. I hope that I always remember that kindness begins with me!

4. Not being remembered: I hope to make a change in this world and definitely want to be remembered as someone who made the world brighter.

5. Forgetting something really important: There's nothing like packing up the things that help make up your life and praying that you've not forgotten something big or it ended up in the wrong place.

6. Never getting married again: I believe in love and a life without love, isn't a life at all.

7. Not finding a job: I've been going through this one lately. It is tough to keep your head above water. I really don't like filling out electronic forms and having a computer sift through it. I'm not quite sure what keywords everyone is looking for.

8. Being a failure in the way people around me like to put it. I often get told that I won't be able to support myself and that I won't be anything. Hmm. . . guess you don't know until you try because I'm definitely going to try starting now!

Nine Loves

Nine loves of mine that you may or may not know. . .

{source}
1. Color. I love color, especially when it is organized.

2. Photography. Especially when it's a toy like my Instax. Although, I dream of owning this camera. Someday, one day.

3. Books. Lots and lots of books. I have to visit at Barnes and Noble at least once a month. Next on my reading list: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Nothing like a good book to take you away on an adventure.

4. Light.

5. Ice Cream. A family legend goes something like this--my family went out for ice cream one evening which was not uncommon while we lived in Dallas, Texas. At the time I was two, my parents ordered me a chocolate kiddie cone, I was in heaven. Apparently, I ate it really quickly and my mom was sitting right next to me. She was talking with my dad holding her ice cream cone and not eating it. So in my little two-year-old mind, I wanted more and she had it. I just took a bite out of it and she didn't notice until I ate a good portion of her cone (she was still holding it). To this day, I still finish my mom's ice cream when I'm with her.

6. Playing the piano. There's nothing like singing my heart out on a terrible day and letting go.

7. This girl. Every time she runs up to me I laugh and smile. She reminds me what I was like when I was younger at times.

8. New York City. I love, love that city.

9. JOY. After all, it's what I love to write about.

The Simple Things-Me

I hate to admit it, but I've received several blog awards from several different bloggers.
But I never responded because it always asked me to do the same thing in order to
receive the reward.

Talk about myself.
I struggle with this and never realized it until I started doing so much traveling this summer.
People asked questions and I wasn't sure how to answer.

So here it goes. . .
Now it's your turn! Post your blog address in the comments. I'd love to learn more about my readers!
