Yesterday, we were in for a treat! After spending so much time away from everything trying to recover and taking care of our new Henry, it was finally time to get out for a little bit. We decided to take Henry right into the heart of Philadelphia. His first visit to Reading Terminal Market and surprise, spring finally decided to come to Philly! The blossoms are finally in full bloom. 

I love my men.

I'll be back to blogging this week and have a few guest posts in store as well. So happy to finally have Henry here! Beware of the overload of pictures coming to this blog!

The Simple Things: Happy Holidays!

Hello dears!

I have been away doing some more healing, traveling and having a whole lot of family time. I thought I would take a quick minute to share some photos from the weekend we went up New York to make one of my Christmas dreams come true. It really helped my spirit after being cooped up at home for so long.

Yes, if you know me at all, seeing this tree was a dream come true!

This guy looked so handsome. I think he looks like a movie star from an old movie.

Merry Christmas from New York! Someone was so nice to take our picture in front of this display right as we were about to take the train back to Philadelphia. It looks like an old fashioned Christmas card.

The Simple Things: Philadelphia

I can't tell you how much we love living in Philadelphia, but we're not sure what next year bring. So in the meantime, we've been trying to soak up as much as we can. I can definitely be named guilty for not documenting as much as should be. 

Here's a few snap of summer from our evening walks. I can't believe that time has escaped once again!

I can't tell you how during the hardest times in life, my faith is what has held me together. Without it, I don't what would have happened. I need divine inspiration in my life and am thankful to know the joy it brings.

P.S. Why Mormons build temples and other FAQ's about Mormon temples. This one happens to be in Washington D.C. There is one being built in Philadelphia off of 17th and Vine which will hopefully be finished in 2015.

The Simple Things

Something I definitely need to remember especially now that winter is settling into Philadelphia. There were a few days to where we went without seeing the sun and it had a little bit of an effect on me. Attitude makes a difference in everything. 

There is sunshine in my soul.

The Simple Things: Rittenhouse Square

Rittenhouse Square is often a refuge to those of us who work long days in Philadelphia's Center City. Around the square there are shops and amazing restaurants (including one of my quick favorites). However, I think the best thing to do when the weather is just right to take a book outside and read my lunch break away.

Found this saying after a hard day at a shop in the Square.

There's nothing quite like a nice walk during golden hour in the middle of fall. Oh, so lovely.

While driving across the country, one of the main things I wanted to go see was the St. Louis Arch.

It ended up having great meaning to me as I looked at this huge structure at the end of a large city. The arch is known as a gateway and for me, it was leading me on to my new life.

The Simple Things

It doesn't take much to make me a happy girl. Walking together in the city, a favorite little restaurant, fun music, candlelight, flowers, sitting by the window and people watching, talking about everything under the sun, splitting a delicious burger. The perfect moment.  

It was exactly what I needed last Friday night. We came up with ideas for my little project and talked about dreams and happy moments from years past. 

It's these quiet moments that I cherish in my life and I am thankful for.
