The Simple Things

"Sometimes our minds are so beset with problems, and there are so many things clamoring for attention at once that we just cannot think clearly and see clearly. At the temple the dust of distraction seems to settle out, the fog and the haze seem to lift, and we can 'see' things that we were not able to see before and find a way through our troubles that we had not previously known.

I can't tell you how during the hardest times in life, my faith is what has held me together. Without it, I don't what would have happened. I need divine inspiration in my life and am thankful to know the joy it brings.

P.S. Why Mormons build temples and other FAQ's about Mormon temples. This one happens to be in Washington D.C. There is one being built in Philadelphia off of 17th and Vine which will hopefully be finished in 2015.

Sunday Thoughts

I had the opportunity to attend the Brigham City Temple open house a couple of weeks ago. It was a wonderful experience to quietly go early in the morning and enjoy small Brigham City.

I was impressed by the artwork in the temple and continuing theme of peaches throughout the entire building, even on the outside of the temple. Peach blossoms were everywhere from the lighting to the windows. I kept wanting to sing, "millions of peaches--peaches for me" during the tour (though that may not have been reverent).

In my mind, I still have a particular painting of a woman picking peaches. To me, it symbolized the power of work. The Lord wants us to work hard and to know how to work, in order to enjoy the reward.

I know for following Heavenly Father's will, the reward will be more than we can imagine.
