Day 3: Simply Give

I've never been a fan of the word "donate". I guess it's because I relate "donate" to big, fancy events that only certain people can afford, where the women wear dresses that I will never own. I think of the word "donate", and I think of people with large trust funds that were created by their hard-working grandparents, and they've never worked a day in their life.

Of course, that isn't true of all people with money.

But I happen to like the word "give," because it means someone like me, (with a very tiny salary) can afford to give something to someone.

So today, I encourage you to simply give. There are so many organizations out there that have a good cause and a good heart.

Yesterday, the video below really touched me and I thought, for $11 (less than what I paid for dinner tonight), I can give someone the gift of sight. Truly give them the gift of sight, something that I take for granted every single day.

What can you give?

xoxo

P.S. If you feel so inclined, go to http://www.cureblindness.org/ and give $11 for someone to be able to see again.
