The Coolest Dog in New York

Only in New York . . .

While eating dinner one evening he came strolling by. . .
I just had to take a couple of photos. He loved the attention and started posing. He knew what to do once everyone whipped out their cameras.

He even had on a Yankees hat and I completely agree he's cheering for the right team!

He's on my list as one of New York's elite, for sure!

Hope that brought a smile to your Monday!

Allen Street

It's been over 10 years since my aunt first got an apartment on Allen Street. Ever since then, it has been one of my favorite places to be. It has been home to my much needed summer vacations, birthday trips and wanting-to-get-away moments.

You have no idea how happy I am to be so close and thank goodness, my aunt is happy to let me be there on the weekends, every now and again. It does my heart some good to have a little place to escape to.

These photos were taken right before the hurricane. I'm a little afraid to go back and see the damage that Sandy has caused. The Lower Eastside didn't have power until last Saturday and many places nearby are still without heat and hot water.

My heart aches and goes out to those who may be suffering which is why I'm going to ask you donate to the Red Cross, if you haven't already. New Yorkers are tough and we'll pull together through this but I worry about the cold days ahead.

Would you mind helping out? Please visit the Red Cross website and join in the efforts. Together, we can make a difference.

The Simple Things

It doesn't take much to make me a happy girl. Walking together in the city, a favorite little restaurant, fun music, candlelight, flowers, sitting by the window and people watching, talking about everything under the sun, splitting a delicious burger. The perfect moment.

It was exactly what I needed last Friday night. We came up with ideas for my little project and talked about dreams and happy moments from years past.

It's these quiet moments that I cherish in my life and I am thankful for.

Visit Central Park

Hello friends! Imagine this, me vblogging. Never thought that would happen. Thanks to a website called Qwiki, it's easy to use and create a video within minutes. I would definitely recommend you use this. What an awesome way to share moments with all of your family friends! Plus, it's created for users like me in mind (forget the expensive fancy equipment-you won't need it) and with a step-by-step guide, you'll have it down pretty quickly.

P.S. I only share programs that I love and actually use. I only share them because I think you'll benefit from using them too!

Creperie

Almost every night that I was in New York, I had to go to the Creperie
These are no ordinary crepes.

They're made in a teeny little restaurant space that is smaller than a studio apartment.
How? I have no clue.
They even once had a Throwdown with Bobbie Flay.

But they're made right in front of you.
Nice, hot and fresh.
The best ever.
I'm now wishing I could go get one.
My favorite is "The Famous Crepe" with strawberry, banana, Nutella,
vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

Joyful Moments-Cooking class

One of my favorite things that I did while I was in New York City was take a cookie class with my cousin Jim. We learned to make some of the BEST sugar cookies and how to decorate them.

More to come on that next week.

I know it's been awhile,
but today it would mean the world to me if you would link-up
and tell me what's brought you joy these past few weeks.

Remember anything can be joyful and it can be anything that makes you smile.

Again, it would mean a lot to me if you took a moment to use Mr. Linky below.

Happy Friday friends!
Hope it's a fabulous day wherever you may be.
